yukari

Yukari Bianchi moved from Osaka, Japan to Denver Colorado in 1992. She was working at the veterinarian hospital as a vet tech assistant in Japan prior to the move.

After moving to Denver she started to volunteer at the local animal shelter, Dumb Friends League as a kennel tech assistant in the health care department in 1995.   Having English as her second language she wasn't comfortable using it at that time which wound up as a blessing because it helped her greatly to relate to the animals since she didn't have to communicate through language..  Instead she observed their body language very carefully and took extra time with each animal that was in the kennel.

Naturally Yukari fell into a role as a foster parent, caring for those animals that needed more individual attention. The foster parent experience gave her more confidence and gained knowledge about common illnesses and minor behavioral issues for kittens and puppies.  Yukari continues to foster animals whenever she can.

She was hired as an assistant in the foster care department soon after.  There she dealt with a range of sick and injured animals on a daily basis.  These animals were not all physically sick and injured but also broken hearted animals.  During this time she was mentored by Heather Ducly and Carol Badgely who taught her about animal care and wellness, Yukari soaked up all the knowledge she could during this time.

Yukari wanted to continue to grow her knowledge, as animal care and wellness was something she was simply happy to do.  Yukari apprenticed along side of a well known dog trainer in Colorado, Sue Brown .  Continued her education through a series of classes from Lorraine May at the Misha May Foundation.  And refreshes her knowledge constantly through reading many books and attending seminars. She is a member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Colorado Dog Trainer Network, International Association of Animal Behavior Consultant, Behavior Educational Network, and currently volunteers at Foothills Animal Shelter. She also hold Pet First Aid/CPR certification through American Red Cross Organization.

In the last five years Yukari has involved herself with Muay-Thai Kickboxing which has become very solid part of her life. There she has learned the importance of encouragement, motivation, inspiration, and how students can have fun while working hard.  Through this beautiful martial art and great teachers, Oscar and Jessica Martinez, Yukari has learned to apply this unique experience with her clients who have challenged furry kids.

Besides Animal wellness and Muay-Thai Kickboxing, she enjoys cooking, crafting, singing, gardening, traveling, and Ju-Jitsu. She lives happily with her husband Aric, their two dogs a Rottweiler mix Midori (means 'green' in English), Aussie mix Sakura (means 'Cherry Blossom' in English), chunky funky cat Ray Charles, and Oryo (pronounce as O-Rio, means 'Female Dragon' in Japanese) the dragon.
